A 3-4-4-3 custody schedule is a 50/50 schedule that repeats every two weeks. The kids spend three nights with one parent and four with the other, then the next week it flips: four nights, then three. Each parent has 7 of every 14 nights.

How it works
- Week one: Monday to Wednesday with Parent A, then Thursday to Sunday with Parent B.
- Week two: Monday to Thursday with Parent A, then Friday to Sunday with Parent B.
- Then the two weeks repeat. Only one weeknight moves between the two weeks.

Common variations
- 4-3-3-4
- The same idea counted from the four-night block.
- Starting on a Sunday
- Counted from Sunday, one parent has Sunday to Tuesday, the other Thursday to Saturday, and Wednesday switches. Each home then gets part of every weekend. When you make your calendar, tap “Start on a different day” and choose a Sunday.
Things families weigh
- Each parent keeps mostly the same weekdays, with one night that moves.
- Counted from Monday, as in the example, one home has every weekend. Starting on a Sunday shares them.
- Four changes every two weeks, and never more than four nights away from either parent.
